Sealed BIDS for the 2014 REAR YARD WATERMAIN RELOCATION PROJECT will be received by the Village of North Aurora at the Village Hall until 10:00 A.M. (Local Time), on the 9th day of September, 2014, and then at said office and time, publicly opened and read aloud.

The proposed improvements consist of relocating the existing rear yard watermain to the front R.O.W. and service re-routing with approximately 428 LF of 6-inch and 3,900 of 8-inch CL-52 watermain and water services, along with appurtenances and restoration. Improvements will provide adequate flow, water distribution and watermain protection on Adams, Grace, John, Robert and State Streets in the Village of North Aurora, in accordance with the Contract Documents.

The CONTRACT DOCUMENTS may be examined and obtained at the office of the Engineer, Rempe Sharpe and Associates, Inc., 324 West State Street, Geneva, Illinois beginning August 25, 2014. A deposit of $40.00 non refundable, will be required for each set of plans and bidding documents obtained. All bidders must be IDOT pre-qualified.

A non-mandatory PRE-BID MEETING will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at the Village of North Aurora Village Hall

All BIDS shall be submitted on the forms provided, and shall be accompanied by a Certified Check, Cashier's Check, or Bid Bond, in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the Bid, and subject to the conditions provided in the Instructions to Bidders and Certificate of Apprenticeship Training by DOL-BAT.

The Village of North Aurora reserves the right to reject any and or all Bids, to waive any irregularities and informalities. Awards will be made to the lowest responsible Bidder as determined by the Village of North Aurora.

All applicable laws, ordinances, and the rules and regulations of all authorities having jurisdiction over construction of the Project shall apply to the contract throughout, including the Illinois Preference Act (Ill. Rev. Stat. Ch. 48, Sects. 2201-2207). This project is funded by the Kane County Community Development Program and Federal Labor Standards and Federal Prevailing Wage Rates apply to all work performed on the contract. It is the contractor’s responsibility to comply with these requirements and to assure compliance by his/her subcontractors and/or any lower tier subcontracts required by this contract.

Sealed BIDS for the 2014 PAVEMENT PATCHING will be received by the Village of North Aurora at the Village Hall until 9:00 A.M. (Local Time), on the 9th day of September, 2014, and then at said office and time, publicly opened and read aloud.

The proposed improvements consist of approximately 355 SY of 6” depth and 1,685 SY of 4¼“ depth Class “D” patching at various locations throughout the Village of North Aurora.

The CONTRACT DOCUMENTS may be examined and obtained at the office of the Engineer, Rempe Sharpe and Associates, Inc., 324 West State Street, Geneva, Illinois beginning August 22, 2014. A deposit of $25.00 non refundable, will be required for each set of plans and bidding documents obtained. All bidders must be IDOT pre-qualified.
