ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

Sealed BIDS for the SMOKE TREE LANE PHASE II IMPROVEMENTS will be received by the Village of North Aurora at the Village Hall until 10:00 A.M. (Local Time), on the 27th day of May 2015, and then at said office and time, publicly opened and read aloud.

The proposed improvements consist of street reconstruction of Smoke Tree Lane. The work to be performed under the contract consists of removal of the existing roadway surface, earth excavation, removal of concrete curb and gutter, storm sewer construction, water main construction, utility structure adjustments, hot-mix asphalt pavement and aggregate base course construction, concrete curb and gutter construction, sidewalk construction, parkway restoration, and toll way slip ramp removal at locations shown on the Plans in the Village of North Aurora.

The CONTRACT DOCUMENTS may be examined and obtained at the office of the Engineer, Rempe Sharpe and Associates, Inc., 324 West State Street, Geneva, Illinois beginning May 4th, 2015. A deposit of $50.00 non refundable, will be required for each set of plans and bidding documents obtained. All bidders must be IDOT pre-qualified.

All BIDS shall be submitted on the forms provided, and shall be accompanied by a Certified Check, Cashier's Check, or Bid Bond, in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the Bid, and subject to the conditions provided in the Instructions to Bidders and Certificate of Apprenticeship Training by DOL-BAT.

The Village of North Aurora reserves the right to reject any and or all Bids, to waive any irregularities and informalities. Awards will be made to the lowest responsible Bidder as determined by the Village of North Aurora.

All applicable laws, ordinances, and the rules and regulations of all authorities having jurisdiction over construction of the Project shall apply to the contract throughout, including the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act (Ill. Rev. Stat. Ch. 48, Sects 39s-1-12) and the Illinois Preference Act (Ill. Rev. Stat. Ch. 48, Sects. 2201-2207). Federal labor standards and prevailing wage rates will apply to portions of this project. Minorities and Women Owned Businesses (MBE/WBE) are encouraged to submit bids on this Project.

ADVERTISEMENT FOR BID

The Village of North Aurora is accepting sealed bids for the maintenance work to the Salt Barn, located at 2101 Tanner Road in North Aurora. Bids will be accepted at the North Aurora Village Hall, 25 E. State Street, North Aurora, IL 60542, until 10:00 a.m., June 4, 2015 at which time bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.

Scope of Work: Exterior: Replacement of 18 to 20 failed wood panels which will be identified before work begins by the Superintendent of Public Works or his designee. Repair/Paint reinstall windows. Replace metal service door with new door and paint. Power wash and scrape all surfaces that are to be coated (water will be furnished by the village). Caulk all upper vertical seams Clean and paint metal trim/frame protector on main overhead door with yellow epoxy paint. Minimum of two (2) coats with a high quality exterior stain that closely matches existing color will be applied to the exterior of the building. Interior: Install approximately 20 sheets 3⁄4" marine plywood, 4' high above the concrete wall inside the storage unit.
